Teaching

Kat has been an Adjunct Professor of Dance at Stockton University since 2016, where she has taught a variety of both technique and theory courses, several of which have received special designation for their interrogation of race and racism. She has also taught dance at Temple University and Rowan College at Burlington County, in additional to recreational dance classes for the Dance Societies of Roehampton University, Oxford University, and King's College London. Her research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed academic journals and edited anthologies, which can be found in the Academic Research section of this website. As the Founder and former Artistic Director of The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble, and a former Principal Dancer with the New Jersey Tap Ensemble, Kat brings over twenty years of performance experience, choreography, and studio teaching to her work in higher education, and has also taught dance and creative movement for public school and Headstart preschool programs. She has limited availability for residencies and workshops over the summer.
