May/June 2026: Kat read an excerpt from her MFA thesis (a memoir-in-progress provisionally entitled "Happily Ever Oxford") at Rutgers-Camden, from her essay "Perfect Mothers Bake Perfect Cakes" for Philadelphia Stories, and from "Becoming Boriqua" for the Philly Writer's Circle.

November 2025: Kat was honored at the 2025 Words and Music Festival co-sponsored by LMNL Arts and One Book, One New Orleans, for her award-winning essay, "Becoming Boriqua" selected by author Brooke Champagne to be published in LMNL's 2026 Anthology.

October 2025: For the 31st Issue launch of Glassworks, a publication of Rowan University's Master of Arts in Writing, Kat was invited to read her Pushcart-nominated short story, "The Top Up" and participate in a Q&A for current undergraduate and graduate students.

February 2024: Kat was honored to perform in the Kimmel Center's Jazz For Freedom program, which provides thousands of public school students with music and dance workshops and a live performance in celebration of Black History Month, emphasizing the historic connection between jazz and social justice.

March 2021: For the launch of Embodied Difference: Divergent Bodies in Public Discourse, edited by Christina Jackson and Jamie A. Thomas, Kat read from her chapter "'Tuck in Your Derriere:' Butts and Bodies in Ballet and Tap" at Wooden Shoe Books in Philadelphia.

August 2019: Kat presented her paper "Tapping Common Ground: Fact and Fiction in Percussive Dance Fusions" as part of th innaugural percussive dance panel at the Annual Meeting of the Dance Studies Association at Northwestern University.

December 2017: "The Tapcracker," the original all-woman, all-tap version of The Nutcracker that Kat wrote and co-choreographed, premiered to critical acclaim at The Suzanne Roberts Theatre. The production has now been performed annually by The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble to sold out crowds for nearly a decade.
